Born the second child, her mother was glad to have gotten a girl. The first time around it had been a boy, which of course made Lacy's father happy. This did not diminish the joy he felt at having a daughter however. With her bright blue eyes and quick smile, Lacy Fae Laytner quickly became the favorite of the family. Ever since she could walk she was always laughing and smiling at everything, even things they didn't understand. Her parents were loving, and although she was close with her mother, it was always her father she went to.
She wasn't close to her older brother at all considering the favoritism that was played, to her benefit. She didn't mind this due to the fact her brother was three years older and well, a boy. It wasn't until she got a bit older that she wished she'd gotten along with him a little better or at all really. By that time she knew there was nothing she could and so she moved on. She never liked to dwell on things that made her or other people unhappy. The idea of making someone unhappy scared her, to be honest.
This strive to make others around her happy led to her being what seemed like the perfect daughter. Her grades were always good, and she never came home with detentions or refractions. She never really argued with her parents, at least not over anything big. Her circle of friends was large although she wasn't very close to any of them. Of course, this didn't bother her either. She always had someone to joke and laugh with, and so life was good. Life was normal which was how she liked it.
A steady routine of school and friends kept her balanced, and by the time she was 15 she hadn't even bothered with boys yet. She wasn't like most girls, gushing and crushing. She kept her opinions on the male species to herself, having only dealt with her few male friends, her brother and her father. No one measured up to her father, and her brother hadn't left that great of an impression. She didn't want to deal with boys, or the hassle of bringing them home to meet the folks, so she simply didn't.
Her seemingly normal life turned not so normal when she was transfered to a different school, due to 'complications'. She hated why she was there and what it meant she was, and tried to deny it. She still hasn't quite yet come to terms with it, and daily wants her normal life back. She does however maintain her bubbly, go lucky personality to keep back the idea that anything is different about her. It's the only thing she can do to not think about it, despite the fact she's faced with it everyday.
